Answer

The University Archives and Special Collections Department (UASC) at UT Tyler is responsible for preserving, providing access, and describing materials of archival and/or historical interest to the University of Texas at Tyler and the surrounding community.

Our collections include letters, diaries, notebooks, speeches, lectures, drafts of books and published articles, research and reference files, administrative files, photographs, drawings, campaign documents, meeting minute books, architectural drawings and floor plans, financial records, maps, audio and visual recordings, and newspaper clippings. Many archival collection also include artifacts, such as the shovel used for the groundbreaking for Tyler State College (now UT Tyler).
